God bless America us

Aye what's crackin yall. We've had some interesting days so far this transfer to say the least, BUT we are in a trio and its a good one so we have a good time all the time.

But yeah nothing super crazy has happened recently, our softball team is absolute trash we are 1-3 and yeah the boys are pretty down right now so were gonna need some wins before the playoffs or we're cooked.
But on the bright side we have found 5 new people to teach because of softball this week, which is insane and they are all so cool. Two of them came to church this last week and are looking like they could be baptized at some point.

Our homie Joel got stranded in the desert last week so he missed church and his interview with president, but he couldn't smoke so hes good with the Words of wisdom now. So id say it worked out pretty well.

The work is going great overall we have no problem finding and getting our friends to church. We just need to get them in the water now. But yeah im doing great we just crawled around some pitch black caves so that was cool.

Work in the Bend YSA is weird we kind of just side quest all day and the Finding, Teaching, and Baptizing kind of just happens. Shoutout the spirit, we kinda just follow him and cool things happen. Which is what we talked about at zone conference so yeawwwh.

Anways I have no desire to write anymore so hopefully thats sufficient. I probably forgot to talk about a bunch of stuff.

Hellcats and Softball for Ridge

Yo what's poppin, so I joined a softball league because our new member Ridge is HIM, and he needed a dawg on the field so I joined, he bought me all the gear I will need and we have games twice a week for the next month. We are also baptizing his best friend next month, and hopefully getting the whole team to church.

Also since the ward is loaded we are starting a go fund me for the ward to buy Ridge a hellcat

Anyways we have been working hard, we had 22 YSA dudes at church today which is so cool. Our boy Joel was at church today I is favorite saying is " I've been a naughty boy, now its time for me to be a good man" so yeah hes on track to get baptized ye just has to be interviewed by prez.

Also we had the coolest MLC last week, Prez invited his non-member friend who lives in bend actually, his name is Rod Ray and the Parkers had us just teach him without us even realizing it. We probably taught him 60% of the principles and he actually got a lot out of it. He gave me his business card as well and we are stopping  by this week to chop it up with him.

We also went to catholic mass today which was chill. Lots of kneeling and rituals and stuff. There was some interesting art work and sculptures and stuff but overall it was cool to see. We weren't allowed to take their sacrament but the priest blessed us up instead so yeah that was tuff.

Anyways there is an unholy amount of sales bros in bend right now and they love to hoop, so we play every morning with them and we got up at 5:30 this morning to play sobyeah im having a good time for the Most part.

Lil Spiritual nug🫴

Recently I've been struggling with certain things that have nothing to do with missionary work, with like finding joy and what not. Beacuse being a missionary and doing missionary things has brought me more joy than anything I can think of. But when im not doing that its rough.

But anyways, I was reading a classic but Dieter called A Higher Joy. Shotout E Jac for putting me on, but there's a quote in there that says-

"My dear brothers and sisters, dear friends, as you search the word of God for a deeper understanding of God’s eternal plan, accept these invitations, and strive to walk in His Way, you will experience “the peace of God, which passeth all understanding,” even in the midst of sorrows. You will feel a greater measure of God’s unsurpassable love swelling within your heart. The dawn of celestial light will penetrate the shadows of your trials, and you will begin to taste the unspeakable glories and wonders of the unseen, perfect, heavenly sphere. You will feel your spirit lifting away from the gravity of this world".

So ye im just grateful for the testimony I have and im grateful to know that if all else fails GODS GOT ME.

Anyways sorry for the longer email, Love PT

P.S Transfers is this week, and im definitely staying which is sickyante, but there are rumors we will be trio training👀. That would be lit

Its JUNNNNNEEEEE

Shout out FlightReacts, all of the sudden I can dunk super easy I dont know what happened but its sick.

Anyways Dale got baptized! That was dope hes such a funny guy he fully converted when he found out we can drink herbal tea. After he found that out he was all in so shoutout herbal tea.

For the month of June we have 4 friends that should for sure be getting baptized which is great, the sisters have 1. So that brings us 5 closer to our goal of 25 by the end of the summer🫣. Prezzy wants us to start a YSA branch by the end of the summer and now the stake is involved so we are all in on that. We currently have 20 that are active, kinda. Tall task but we have the faith to do it and were so pumped to try.

Anyways as of right now im either coming home in October or January, the Church decided to extend my mission without telling me so we will see what happens on that.

We have a YSA activity every night and we do the most random things throughout the day to find people. So this is like a completely different mission then what I was on before, but im in bend and I keep visiting the members of the other ward i was in and they still love me(they want me to come back to their ward) they keep inviting us over to dinner and its sick we just get fed two meals a day.

We are teaching this absolute legend named Joel, he has some legal issues so he cant get baptized for 8 months but hes such a dawg. He lives off the grid in the middle of nowhere and just pulls up to every activity and church, cool dude fr.

But yeah thats the run down for now

The Land of Milk and Honey

I dont really know where to start with this one... its been quite the week and so much happened.

For starters Saturday night I got a call from the big man himself President Parker, letting me know that an Elder in bend was struggling a lot and that he needed me to go and be comps with him for a couple weeks(whatever that means). So next thing I know im packing to go back to Bend. So your first thought is probably that I would be excited about this but im not.

My Companion Elder Nordy is my dawg and we only got one week together, we actually would've become best friends and we had such a great time together so thats really disappointing

If you cant tell from the Photo we absolutely cooked together and imma miss my boy.
Also the ward was so amazing and I had just got in good with them. we were cooking with missionary work, like we had some Dawgs we were teaching and my boy Dale is getting baptized in 7 days.

So Yeah now im ZL in the YSA in Bend which is just insane, it's basically St George. Im in the same apartment I spent 6 months in, 6 months ago. It all feels very weird. But im not complaining because the work is really good here as well, we have 6 people on date for baptism right now and they are all really cool.

Also I went to a arena football game on Saturday because we are teaching(back in Redmond) the head coach and he gave us tickets. So that was fun. We also had zone conference which i had to give a training in. So basically im exhausted, ive had no time to sleep and we just keep having the most insane days.

We are teaching a bunch of YSA dudes that are going to be getting baptized this transfer we just gotta lock in and make sure it happens.

But anyways thats just a little update on me I probably forgot somethings but yeah im doing great.

Back Over the Mountains

I escaped hell. I will say im very happy about the time I had in west salem, I loved both my companions over there and I grew a lot in so many ways. But boy am I glad to leave, prezzy gave us a call and told me I would be a zone leader over the mountains, for those of you who dont know, "over the mountains" is where everyone wants to go but most people dont ever get to go. and ive already spent 8 months over here, but now im back. And I love it im in a place called redmond and its like a small country town but full of tweakers so its a good time.

We play basketball every tuesday and Thursday night with like 20 non-members and its competitive and my comp is a Hooper so its just the greatest. My new comp Elder Nordquist is a dawg we get along really well.

We are teaching this old dude named Dale hes pretty funny, and hes on date to get baptized on the 24th and its looking like he will be ready by then! We've been finding a lot of cool people, we found Tiffany and Corey they are from Louisiana and they have the best accent. But we found them on Saturday and they came to church the next day and they seemed to enjoy it.

Its kind of been a long week on thursday we had transfers and I drove 3 hours over to Bend, then over to Redmond and it was my comps birthday so we went to this family's house for cake and ice cream and while we were eating the Dad(Brody) tased me in the back, it was wild.

The next day we drove 3 and a half hours all the back past salem to Newberg and had a 5 hour meeting(MLC) then drove all the way back, we left at like 8 and got home at 10:30, and then some sales bros knocked on our door and it was Daniel Densley and some other homies from the Mish. And my other trainer was at church on Sunday with us as well( Elder Wilde). So its been a frat to say the least, im pretty tired but I took a 3 hour Faith nap this morning so now im ready to go.

But thats enough from me hope yall had a good week!

I showered today! Can I get a hug now? -Brian Wilson

Prezy called me up this week to ask for some transfer advice and he asked "How is the Brush Hills ward doing?" I said " Nah this is Brush Hell, get me outta here." So if you cant tell im ready for a new area. Ive been transferred 1 time in the last year...

But im not here to complain, we had a fantastic week is west salem. We've been handing out more book of mormons than ever and people are actually reading them which is sick.

One of our members( Brian Wilson ) found out that this is probably my last week here and he about started to cry and thats when he asked me for a hug, which i did give him a side hug. He is very unaccountable and kind of weird but he really likes me for some reason. Here's a Pic of us yesterday

Our boy Cameron was at church yesterday and oh boy it was fire haha. It was fast and testimony meeting and he decided to go up and share a 20 minute story of his life. Which I think is really cool that a non-member would be able to do that. But our ward was unimpressed and they actually chastised us for letting him talk for so long. Idk how its our fault

Anyways our friend Jaeger went to the temple open house and loved it. Said he wats to get baptized, but wants to wait until he moves out so he doesn't cause Contention with his family.

We found Serenas roommate and now Serena is teaching him the gospel and they are both super interested and progressing super well! They were also at church and had such a good time.

Anyways a little spiritual nug today is just the whole book of Moroni, because I realized today that I have every single verse in the whole book marked and I thought that was crazy. What else is crazy, is Moronis promise at the end-

4 And when ye shall receive these things, I would exhort you that ye would ask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, if these things are not true; and if ye shall ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, he will manifest the truth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost.

5 And by the power of the Holy Ghost ye may know the truth of all things.

How amazing is it that if we have real intent and faith that we can receive truth about anything.

Anyways, stay super, man.

"6-7" -Patrick Kearon 3X

Im currently 48 hours off of caffeine(new record) and my head hurts so bad. I also just slid down a muddy mountain on my butt. Im so excited to down this 48oz mountain dew, God bless America 🇺🇸

But yeah I missed PK by about 2 minutes so I didnt get to actually talk to him, but he gave a really good talk at a conference here. He said 6-7 3x and said a lot of British jokes i didnt understand, but the spirit was strong and hes a cool guy.

We had a really good week though, we had a mission wide fast to baptize more people and we got a referral during it for a young lady named honesty and shes come to church the last two weeks and will get baptized on Sunday. Super excited for her shes in good with the young women now too so shes good to go.

Our dawg Cameron came to church the last two weeks as well and some British lady bore her testimony on how homeless people don't change. Of course Cameron used to be homeless, so im sure he feels super welcome at our church. But he actually loves it, he quit his word if wisdom struggles before we even taught it to him, and he accepted the invitation to be baptized so within the next couple of weeks he will do that.

A homeless dude named Greg(but goes by John??) Wandered into church, and i wish I could say it was the spirit that got him to stay, but i literally forced him into the sacrament meeting. He liked it though and stayed he would be back next week.

Other than riding a moped, having insane amounts of aura, and holding my trainee back from arguing about politics twice a day not much else to talk about. So stay super, man.

For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.

Love, Elder Nelson

P.s shout out Stacy for going on a date with my traino
